Corbin Long John Silvers reopens Wednesday after ‘extensive cleaning’

One day after it abruptly closed The Long John Silvers Restaurant in Corbin reopened Wednesday.

This closed signed was placed on the door of Long John Silvers Tuesday afternoon.

At approximately 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, a handwritten sign on the door stated the restaurant was closed.

When approached, a woman, who identified herself as a manager, confirmed that the restaurant was temporarily closed, though she declined to give details beyond saying it was for, “extensive cleaning.”

Officials with the Knox County Health Department said Tuesday afternoon they have not been notified of a health-related problem at the restaurant.

“There are no known issues at this time,” said Tammy Owens, a registered nurse at the health department.
