A Corbin man has been indicted on charges stemming from a burglary at a London home during which a jewelry box and several pieces of jewelry were taken.
Robert Havens, Jr. 33, was indicted Friday in Laurel Circuit Court along with Latasha Lynch, 21, of London on charges of second-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief and theft by unlawful taking of items valued at $500 or less.
London Police were called to the residence on Robinson Lane on Oct. 22 when the victim, Tammy Lynch reported someone had broken into her home.
"(Tammy) Lynch stated that she questioned (Latasha Lynch) and Robert Havens due to them being related and having problems prior," London Police Officer Jordan Hopkins stated in the arrest report.
A neighbor told Hopkins that she saw a man and woman matching the description of Havens and Latasha Lynch leaving the home earlier that day, describing their vehicle as a small gray care with extreme front end damage.
Officers found the duo at a home on Echo Valley Road along with the car. When officers searched the vehicle, they reported finding several pieces of jewelry.
When questioned about the incident, officers reported that Latasha Lynch confessed to her part in the burglary.
Havens and Lynch are being held in the Laurel County Detention Center. They are both scheduled to return to court on Jan. 20.
The Laurel County Grand Jury also returned the following indictments against individuals from the Corbin/Whitley County area:
• Kevin Faulkner, 34, Corbin, manufacturing methamphetamine
• Kenneth Bays, 29, Corbin, manufacturing methamphetamine and second-degree persistent felony offender
• Summer Angel, 25, Corbin, manufacturing methamphetamine and second-degree persistent felony offender
• William St. John, 52, Corbin, first-degree possession of a controlled substance
