Corbin man killed in single-vehicle crash Sunday morning

Date:

A Corbin man was pronounced dead at the scene of a single-vehicle crash on Ohler Road Sunday morning.

Law enforcement and emergency personnel were called to the scene near Norville Road at 7:44 a.m.

Corbin firefighters had to extricate the victim, later identified as James Hensley, of the Nissan Sentra that was found lying against a tree.

Witnesses reported that it appeared the vehicle had been there for some time as the engine compartment was cool to the touch.

A neighbor reportedly told police they had heard a big thud in the area about 5 a.m.

Corbin Fire Captain Scott Grove said firefighters used the Jaws-of-Life to cut the top off of the car.

Firefighters were on scene until about 9:15.
