Cumberland Valley Electric working to restore power

Cumberland Valley Electric is working to restore power to more than 3,000 customers.

The electric cooperative has an outage affecting 950 customers on East Ky 92 in Whitley County near the county line. This is the largest reported outage in the county as of 10:35 a.m.

According to the outage map on cumberlandvalley.coop, the majority of the outages were across Whitley County.

As of 10 a.m. Monday, approximately 2,350 customers were without power. The largest outages, involving more than 100 customers, were located around Ky. 204 and near the Williamsburg-Whitley County Airport.

Outages were scattered, primarily, across the county between Corbin and Williamsburg.

Knox County had 476 customers without power. Laurel County was reporting 74. Other counties reporting outages included: Bell, Harlan and McCreary counties in Kentucky and Campbell and Claiborne counties in Tennessee.
