Defense contractor to bring 50 jobs to Corbin

Date:

Industrial officials say a west coast business has plans to locate in Corbin in the near future providing 50 high-tech jobs for area residence.
Corbin Industrial Development Director Bob Terrell said Tuesday than an official announcement will be made later this week, but could not yet reveal the name of the company.
“It’s a company on the west coast that is a defense contractor,” Terrell said. “They will bring 50 jobs to the Corbin-Knox County area. We prefer not to give any other information until this company issues an official notification.”
Terrell could not say where exactly the company would be locating and how much the jobs would pay. He also could not reveal if the company would be receiving state or local tax incentives for locating in the area. The News Journal will have further details next Wednesday.
