Dennis Nolan Pennington

Date:

Dennis Nolan Pennington, 76, formerly of Corbin, KY, passed away on February 28, 2025 in Frankfort, KY.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Lynn; daughters, Sarah (Crystal) and Laura; sister, Nancy Williams; sisters-in-law, Joye Taylor (David) and Becky Killian (Curt); and beloved canine companions, Lucy, Sadie, and Annabelle.
Dennis was born in Cincinnati in 1948 to Jacob and Carrie. He was a graduate of Corbin High School, a Vietnam Veteran, and retired from CSX. He was a ham radio enthusiast (KY4KFC) and led the Tri-County Children’s Fund, which supplied shoes to children in need as well as financial support to the Barbourville Pentecostal Children’s Home, for years.
All who loved Dennis knew him as a perpetual pot-stirrer, unable to let any political injustice go unremarked. As his legacy he proudly leaves behind two daughters with the same inability to stay silent in the face of oppression.
Were he able, Dennis would encourage all who read this memorial to advocate and work for what is right, fair, and just in this country to which he gave so much of himself in service.
A private service will be held at the family’s request. In lieu of flowers, donations to the ACLU or your local animal shelter are welcome.
Noon & Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
