DEVELOPING: High speed pursuit leads to wreck on I-75 in Whitley Co.

Date:

Interstate traffic has been at a standstill in the northbound lanes between Corbin and Williamsburg Wednesday afternoon as authorities are working to clear the scene of a wreck that occurred as a result of a high speed chase involving Kentucky State Police and the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department.

Details are still forthcoming, but a stolen vehicle out of Tennessee was eventually stopped just north of Exit 25. A Kentucky State Police cruiser sustained damage while bringing the stolen vehicle to a stop. There were no fatalities, and the extent of any possible injuries is unknown at this time.

This is a developing story. Kentucky State Police are actively working the scene, and will be releasing additional information soon. The News Journal will update this link as details become available.
