Edward M. Tavares, 83, of Knoxville, TN, passed away Wednesday August 29, 2018 at his home.
He was born May 29, 1935 in Fall River, MA to the late Manuel and Mary Souza Tavares.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Lois Bryant Tavares and ten brothers and sisters.
He was a retired United States Marine Corps Major/Mustang.
He is survived by two sons; Steven Tavares (Jackie) of Clinton, TN, Randy Tavares of Las Vegas, NV, several nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Graveside services were held Sunday, September 2, at Highland Park Cemetery Davis Addition with Bro. Vernon Jones officiating.
Interment followed in the Highland Park Cemetery Davis Addition.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to one of Ed’s favorite charities; Knox Area Rescue Ministeries at P.O. Box 3310 Knoxville, TN 37927 or KARM.org, or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
