Elliott County pulled away from the Anderson County Bearcats in the fourth quarter as Ethan and Evan Faulkner dominated the defensive play. They also 34 points. Ethan had 20 points and Evan added 14 points for the Lions. Jon Ferguson was the leading scorer with 24 points.
Jacob Russell led the Bearcats with 20 points.
Someone told me there was a lot of blackboard talk about this game. Anderson County Coach Glen Drury apparently told some media that Elliott County had played a weaker schedule and Mays blew up the story for his team to see.
Elliott County had beaten Anderson earlier in the season by one in an overtime game.
Now Elliott County gets a rematch with Shelby Valley, who beat them in the “Small School Classic”.
