The London-Corbin Airport is getting $2 million to renovate the airport’s aging terminal to improve safety, security, energy efficiency and functionality, according to a news release from U.S. Rep. Hal Rogers.
“Thank you to Congressman Hal Rogers for keeping the airport project a priority for many years, and President Donald J. Trump for signing into law the Community Project Funding for the FBO (Fixed Base Operator) Renovations in the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Bill,” the airport wrote in a release.
The FBO building serves as the main offices for the airport staff, flight training center for London Aviation, a training center for AOPA: your freedom to fly and FAASTeam representatives and industry members classes, and a conference center available to business customers across southeast Kentucky.
The decades old building recently suffered additional damage during the 2025 London tornado, and the repairs and renovations are critical to the efficient and cost-effective operations at the London Corbin Airport, according to the airport release.
Rogers release also noted that $2 million has been secured for the new Northern McCreary County Firehouse, which will help serve more than 17,300 residents in rural southern Kentucky.
