The Corbin Redhounds came off their bye week and traveled north to face Simon Kenton in week 7. The Pioneers gave the Hounds all they could handle, but in the end the visitors were able to pull out a 38-25 victory to remain unbeaten on the year. Corbin will open up district play next week at home, welcoming in the Knox Central Panthers on Oct. 7.

In other week 7 high school football action, the Williamsburg Yellow Jackets lost their second game in a row, falling to the Sayre Spartans, 35-21. The Jackets, now 3-2, will hope to get back on track next week as they also open up district play, welcoming in the Harlan Green Dragons.

Finally, the Whitley County Colonels’ struggles continued this week, as they went on the road and fell to Collins by the final score of 41-21. The Colonels will host Southwestern Pulaski for a district contest next week.

The Lynn Camp Wildcats were on bye this week, but will play their first game on their newly remodeled home turf field on Oct. 7 against the undefeated Pineville Mountain Lions.
