James Frank “Hank” Lawson, age 84, of Corbin, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022.
He was born June 12, 1938 in Whitley County, Kentucky to the late Joe and Lou Verna (Carr) Lawson.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Elsie Lawson Bunch and brother, Herman Lawson.
James is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Janice Rice Lawson of Corbin, Kentucky; two children, daughter, Gina Lawson of Williamsburg, Kentucky and son, Jeff Lawson; five grandchildren, granddaughter, Stephanie (Scott Lisle) Johnson of Knoxville, Tennessee, grandsons, Christopher (Dawn) Lawson of Heiskell, Tennessee, Chad Lawson, Justin Brown of Williamsburg, Kentucky and Hunter (Megan) Brown of Corbin, Kentucky; six great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Pearl, Axell, and Brayden Lawson, Kash and Kole Brown; brothers, Ozene (Gail) Lawson of Hebron, Kentucky and Bobby (June) Lawson of Fort Wayne, Indiana; several sister and brother in-laws; nieces and nephews; special cousin, Georgie Carr Powers; and special friends, Jim (Sandy) Hudson and Eddie Hill.
Funeral service was Friday, October 7, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerome McCullah officiating.
James was laid to rest in the Carr Cemetery, Yaden, Kentucky.
