James Messer Jr.

James Messer Jr., 68, of Corbin, passed away on Saturday November 12, 2016 at his home.

He was a retired Sergeant First Class from the US Army having served in Vietnam where he received a number of medals and citations.

James was preceded in death by his father, James Messer Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Eva Mowrey Messer; mother, Jean Feltner Messer; children, Joshua Aaron Messer, Jacob Adam Messer, and James Andrew Messer; grandchildren, Haley Messer, Gabe Bowling, Shyann Southard, and Jeremiah Messer; brothers, Darryl Messer and Robert Messer; and by many other family and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 20, at the Pine Hill Cemetery in Corbin with Rev. Dean Lawson officiating and with Military Honors.
