Jane Campbell Madon Harper

January 23, 1950, Jane Campbell Madon Harper, a brilliant and clever angel, was welcomed into this world by two of the most loving parents, Gladys Theda Campbell Madon and James Robert Madon of Pineville, Kentucky. Known to many as “Mama Harper”, Jane grew to be the enlightened, sagacious & wondrous woman that we all knew.
November 14, 2022, Jane was able to embrace her Savior again while surrounded by family, in her home in Corbin, Kentucky. Throughout her life, Jane had many passions and skills that she willingly shared. Graduating from Pineville High School, she went on to dedicate her life to nursing, graduating from Midway College with a BSN and later in life obtaining a Master of Science in Nursing from Western Kentucky University. Jane practiced as a RN for over 40 years and lovingly shared her knowledge as a nursing instructor for over 17 years. She served on many State and Local Community Boards and volunteered for many organizations to bring education and training to the greater Eastern Kentucky area. Jane loved her Lord and dedicated her life to him by serving the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter Day Saints in many capacities, including serving as Relief Society President, Youth Seminary Instructor, and Primary Music Director. She acted as a resource of information for many and invested her time and talents to share her love of God with everyone. Anyone that knows her has experienced her unconditional love, devotion, and attention. If Jane ever saw a need in her community, she made sure it was taken care of, without hesitation.
Jane is survived by her brother, James Robert Madon Jr. (Sharon); her sister, Ann Kathryn Smith (Charles); her three children, son, Jerry Dee Harper Jr. (Tessa), daughter, Kathryn Michelle Harper Lower (Bill, and daughter, Elizabeth Jane Harper Niquette (Deven); six grandchildren, Joee, Ryen, Lyric, and Tommee Harper, and Ava and Emily Lower; and many nieces and nephews that she loved and devoted her life to.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 19, at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Bishop Mike McLaughlin presiding.
Burial will follow at the Pineville Memorial Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Humanitarian Fund, the American Nurses Foundation, or your local food bank.
