Jewell Dean Gray Carter, 69, of Woodbine, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Baptist Health Corbin.
Born in Knox County, she was the daughter of the late Whitney Gray and Ethel Lawson Gray.
Jewell was a homemaker and a member of Sunrise Baptist Church in Gray.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Tammy Lynn Brown Carter; brother Benny Gray; and sisters Lou Gray Foster and Elsie Gray Marion.
Jewell is survived by her husband Kenny Carter; daughter Sheila Swafford; sons Tim Swafford and Devin Swafford; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brothers Bobby Gray, Tommy Gray, and Orangie Gray; and sisters Dorothy Foster, Elenora Mills, Rose Gray and Hazel Gray, all who mourn her passing.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Thomas and Rev. Travis Baker officiating.
Burial will be in Corn Creek Cemetery.
