Laurel County Sheriff’s Department offering women’s self defense course

Area women are invited to the London-Laurel County Rescue Squad building on April 16 for self-defense class presented by the Laurel County Sheriff’s Department.

The class is open to women ages 14 and up and will be conducted by Special Deputy Elizabeth Sparks.

The class will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 6 p.m.

The class is free, but pre-registration is required.

Interested women may register by calling the sheriff’s department at 606-864-6600 ore by emailing Sparks at e.sparks@laurelcountysheriff.com.

The rescues squad is located on Fire Rescue Drive, off of Sipple Street, in downtown London.
