The Housing Authority of Corbin is seeking sealed and unsealed contractor bids for emergency procurement and updated fiscal year 2026 procurement. The potential work items include cleaning services, painting and drywall work, window replacement, Flooring, plumbing, pest control, lawn care including mulch and rock stonework, and heating and air conditioning services. Please bring Contractor information including Liability Insurance to the Corbin Housing Authority office at 1336 Madison Street, Corbin, KY 40701 Hours are 8am to 4pm.

 

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Sealed Bids for construction of the KY 1232 Sewer Extension, together with all related work as specified, will be received by the City Utilities Commission at its offices at 1515 Cumberland Falls Highway, Corbin, KY 40701 until 2:00 pm (local time) on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud.

The project consists of approximately 4,760 feet of 8” PVC gravity sewer, 22 sewer manholes, 160 feet of steel encasement bores, 19 service connections, asphalt pavement repair, and associated appurtenances.

General Contractors (Prospective Bidders) Note Pre-qualification Requirements:

The Corbin City Utilities Commission is requiring all prospective bidders to be pre-qualified to bid this project. Pre-qualification requirements only apply to General Contractors. Pre-qualification requirements and forms can be obtained at the following address:

Upon review of the above requested information and after a determination that the prospective bidder is satisfactory to the City Utilities Commission, the prospective bidder will be approved to submit a bid for the project. Any bid submitted by a contractor that is not prequalified by the City Utilities Commission will not be accepted.

The CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, consisting of Advertisement for Bids, Information for Bidders, Bid, Bid Bond, Agreement, General Conditions, Special Conditions, Payment Bond, Performance Bond, Notice of Award, Notice to Proceed, Change Order, Drawings, Specifications and any Addenda, may be examined at the following location:

Copies of the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS may be obtained at the office of JMT, 109 South 24th Street, Middlesboro, KY 40965, upon a non-refundable payment of $200.00 per set. Bidders must purchase the contract documents from the Engineer and payment shall be made via check in the name of the Bidder. Documents purchased by one party and bid by another party will not be accepted.

Bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond or a certified check in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid to ensure the execution of the contract for which the bid is made. In case the bid is not accepted, the check or bid bond will be returned to the bidder, but if the bid is accepted and the bidder shall refuse or neglect to enter into a contract with the City Utilities Commission within ten (10) days after the time he has been notified of the acceptance of his bid, the said check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the City Utilities Commission as liquidated damages for the failure to do so.

Federal wage and hour (Davis-Bacon) provisions DO NOT APPLY to this project.

No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of ninety (90) days after closing time scheduled for the receipt of bids.

City Utilities Commission reserves the right to waive informalities and to reject any and all bids.

Award of the Contract will be made lowest, responsive, responsible Bidder.

PUBLIC NOTICE OF REQUEST FOR LETTERS OF INTEREST FOR

PROFESSIONAL ARCHITECT/DESIGN SERVICES

The Whitley County Board of Education is soliciting architectural services for HVAC upgrades at Oak Grove Elementary.  Interested architectural firms shall submit a one-page “Letter of Interest” to Amy Brown, CFO, Whitley County Board of Education, 300 Main Street, Williamsburg, KY 40769, no later than Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at 2:00 pm.  One-page letters of interest may also be emailed to amy.brown@whitley.kyschools.us.  Letters received after Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at 2:00 pm will not be accepted.  Questions concerning the Letter of Interest can be directed to John Siler, Superintendent via email at john.siler@whitley.kyschools.us or by calling (606) 549-7000, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm.

This summons is to the defendants named, and to any other person who may be concerned. You are notified that you have been sued in the Circuit Court of Howard County, Indiana, 104 N. Buckeye Street, #310, Kokomo, Indiana 46901 (765-456-2202), in an action entitled Scott W. Shimer, Jill C. Shimer and Cecilia Shimer v. William R. Lyons, James Derrick Lyons, and Jessica Isenberg, Cause Number 34C01-2307-CT-001758, by the persons named above as plaintiffs. This summons by publication is specifically directed to defendant William R. Lyons and to defendant James Derrick Lyons whose whereabouts are unknown.

The named plaintiffs are represented by David A. Cox, Bayliff, Harrigan, Cord, Maugans & Cox, P.C., Bar #4063-34, 319 N. Main Street, Kokomo, Indiana 46901.

The nature of this suit against you is for personal injuries arising from a vehicle collision occurring in Kokomo, Indiana, on or about July 14, 2021 at the intersection of Lincoln Road and Highway 931. Plaintiffs claim injury and damages arising from the negligent driving and negligent entrustment of the defendants.

An answer or other response in writing to the Complaint must be filed either by you or your attorney within 30 days after the third notice of suit is published, and if you fail to do so, judgment by default may be rendered against you for the relief demanded by the plaintiffs.
