The Corbin Board of Education will receive sealed bids for CHS Student Pictures & Senior Portraits. Bid forms and specifications are available at Corbin Board of Education, 108 Roy Kidd Ave., Corbin, KY 40701, Mon–Fri, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Questions regarding Student Pictures, please contact Rhonda Moore at 606-528-1303 or rhonda.moore@corbin.kyschools.us. Bids are due and will be opened at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 5, 2026. Late bids will be returned unopened. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive informalities.

 

NOTICE OF PUBLIC SALE

The following vehicle stored at 235 W Cumberland Gap Parkway, Corbin, KY 40701 will be sold at public auction to recover towing and storage charges on March 2, 2026 at 8 AM on a 2016 GMC Yukon, VIN# 1GKS2BKE6GR138982; current owner: Brenda Leyva; lienholder: Mississippi Valley Credit Union; repair facility: Bolton’s Towing, 1617 Gordon Hill Pike, Corbin, KY 40701, phone: 606-523-1132. Seller reserves the right to bid. Terms of sale: cash only.

NOTICE OF BOND RELEASE

PERMIT # 918-8016

In accordance with the provisions of KRS:350, notice is hereby given that Ferroglobe USA ARLR, LLC, 332 West Cumberland Gap PKWY, Suite 100, Corbin, Kentucky 40701, has filled for a Phase I and II Bond Release on Permit #918-8016, which was last issued on 12/29/2025. The application covers an area of approximately 12.42 acres of which 12.42 acres were disturbed. The area is located approximately located 1 mile north of Pleasant View in Whitley County

The permit is approximately 0 miles east of US 25W junction with Cane Creek Road and located approximately 0.1 miles northeast of the junction of Cane Creek and Clear Fork.

The total bond now in effect for this permit is a surety bond in the amount of Two Hundred Fourteen Thousand dollars ($214,000) of which approximately 85% of the original bond amount of $214,000 is included in this application for release.

Reclamation work performed includes: Backfilling, re-grading, topsoil replacement, and drainage control including soil preparation and initial seeding and mulching in accordance with the approved reclamation plan, completed in the fall of 2024

Written comments, objections, and requests for a public hearing of informal conference must be filed with the Director, Division of Field Services, 300 Sower Boulevard, Frankfort, KY 40601, by April 3, 2026

A public hearing on the application has been scheduled for April 6, 2026, at (9:00 am) the Department for Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement’s Middlesboro Regional Office, 1804 East Cumberland Avenue, Middlesboro, KY 40965-1229. The hearing will be cancelled if no request for a hearing or informal conference is received by April 3, 2026.
