A London man was arrested for calling in a bomb threat to a Corbin business Wednesday that forced the evacuation of workers there for hours.
Jason D. Collins, 22, was recently fired from Senture, which has locations in the Tri-County Square Shopping Center in Corbin and Laurel County’s Industrial Park, and officials say he called the company’s corporate office in Arlington, Virginia and said there was a bomb in his former bosses office. He was charged with first-degree terroristic threatening following an investigation.
Police evacuated workers at both facilities, a data processing and call center contracted with the federal government, while they used bomb sniffing dogs to make sure the buildings were safe. Nothing was found.
Workers returned to their jobs after 2:00 p.m.
Kentucky State Police Post 11 Trooper Chris Roberts is leading the investigation into the case. He was assisted by officers from Kentucky State Police, the Coribn Police Department, the Corbin Fire Department, Laurel County Emergency Management, Laurel County EMS and the Colony Fire Department.
