Lonnie Lee Foley, born September 15, 1950, in Williamsburg, Kentucky, passed away on January 24, 2026. He was a beloved member of the community, known for his steadfast dedication to public service and unwavering love for his family.
Lonnie was a devoted employee of the Whitley County Board of Education, where he served faithfully as a security officer for over 39 years. His dedication to public safety also extended to his roles with the Whitley County Sheriff’s Office and the Williamsburg City Police.
In addition to his professional roles, Lonnie served his community as a Constable in the 1st District for over 30 years, as well as a US Army Veteran. A man of faith, he was a cherished member of the New Zion Baptist Church.
Lonnie is survived by his children, Sharon Foley, Dennis Foley, Donnie (Amber) Foley, and Raymond Duane (Holly) Foley. He was a proud grandfather to Ethan Ray, Dakota Lee, Elijah Howard, Ava Jean, and Timothy Wayne Foley. Lonnie is also survived by his sisters, Dorothy Ann (Nathan) Morgan, Wanda Joyce (Randy) Hamlin, Shirley (Michael) Mace, and Debbie (Earl) Angel, and his beloved nieces and nephews, Kathy Morgan, Melissa Saylor, Brian Hunter, Casey Foley, Crystal Schlottman, Rebekah Hodge, Holly Angel, and Adam Angel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonzo Foley and Edna Ball Foley; wife of over 56 years, Nancy Foley; infant daughter, Pauline Jean Foley; brother, Gary Foley; and nephew, Joshua Hodge.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 29, at 12:00 pm at New Zion Baptist Williamsburg, Kentucky. The funeral service will follow later that day at 3:00 pm at the same location.
