Williamsburg High School’s boys and girls golf teams participated in the Regional All “A” Classic Golf Tournament at Eagles Nest Country Club in Somerset, Monday, July 31.
The Jackets finished second to Somerset in the tournament. Those representing the Jackets were Adam Jones (Fr), Zach Burr (Fr), Brandon Byrd (So), Chris Apple (Jr), Corey Fleenor (Fr) and Maverick Reynolds (So.). The team is coached by Justin Williams.
Chris Apple, a junior, qualified for the All “A” State Golf Classic to be held at Gibson Bay in Richmond, August 19.
“I was pretty please since we only had two weeks of practice,” said Williams.
The Jackets will be in action Friday at their home course at Crooked Creek against Barbourville, Knox Central and North Laurel.
The Lady Jackets also finished second to host, Somerset.
Kari-Anne Pettit and sophomore Cecily Sears qualified for the state tournament at Gibson Bay on the same afternoon.
