Phillip Gordon Prewitt, 72, of North Hwy 25W, Williamsburg, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at UK Healthcare in Lexington.

He was born on November 2, 1944 in Whitley County, to the Raymond Gordon Prewitt and Norma Ruth (Cox) Prewitt.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Gordon Prewitt.  Phillip attended Brays Chapel Church of God.

He is survived by his mother, Ruth (Cox) Prewitt; eight brothers and sisters, Louise Prewitt, James Prewitt (wife Pauline), Harold Prewitt (wife Virginia), Ronald Prewitt (wife Dorothy) of Portland, TN, Patty Custis (husband Dan) of Van-Wert, OH, Stephen Prewitt (wife Tammy) of Corbin, Dean Prewitt (wife Tammy), and Randall Prewitt (wife Susie) of Maryville, TN; aunts, Julie Hubbard, Doris Cox, Edna Mace of Cincinnati, OH, and Alene Gaynor of Atlanta, GA; uncles, John P. Cox, William Cox of Hamilton, OH, and Herman Prewitt of Cincinnati, OH; many nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.

The funeral service was held Saturday, March 11, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brian Rountree officiating.

He was laid to rest in the Bryant Cemetery at Cumberland Freewill Baptist Church. His nephews served as pallbearers.
