Kentucky State Police and Corbin Police reported finding nothing during a search of students’ bags and backpacks in response to a bomb threat made through social media overnight.
Police were waiting as students arrived for class Monday morning.
Corbin Police Chief David Campbell said students were required to pass through one of two entrances as they entered the building. Officers were stationed at the two entrances and searched bags and backpacks.
School officals said the building had been searched overnight.
Nothing suspicious was found in either search.
Officials said the threat targeted other school systems across Southeastern Kentucky. However, officials with Williamsburg and Whitley County Schools said neither school system was among those on the list.
