Police say man seen urinating in parking lot was drunk

Date:

Corbin Police say a man seen urinating in a parking lot Tuesday night was drunk at the time.

Thirty-year-old Michael David Young is facing charges of second-degree indecent exposure, driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs and possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle following the incident on Cumberland Falls Hwy.

According to Capt. Coy Wilson, he was on patrol about 5 p.m. when he witnessed Young urinating outside his vehicle in the parking lot at Rite-Aid Drug Store.

Wilson noted Young was in plain view from the road.

Young reportedly got back into his vehicle and drove down the highway to Sav-a-Lot, were Wilson approached him.

Wilson noted that Young had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. Young was unable to perform several field sobriety tests, at which time he was placed under arrest.

Wilson stated that he found an open bottle of Jim Beam whiskey on the floor behind the front seats of Young’s vehicle.

A breathalyzer test showed Young’s blood alcohol to be .136. The legal limit in Kentucky is .08.

Young remains in the Whitley County Detention Center.
