Public’s help sought to identify, locate Benges Market robbery suspect

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect, who robbed Benges Market late Friday evening (Dec. 5).

The robbery occurred about 10:40 p.m. at Benges Market, which is located on KY-229 about eight miles south of London.

Surveillance photos show the suspect wearing a dark blue or navy long sleeve shirt with a red hoodie underneath that is pulled up over his head. The person is also seen wearing a dark mask and sunglasses.

After the suspect left the store, they fled on foot towards London.

If anyone has any information on the suspect, they are asked to contact the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office at (606) 864,6600, the London-Laurel County Dispatch Center at (606) 878-7000, to personal message the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office on Facebook, or e-mail Public Affairs Deputy Gilbert Acciardo at g.acciardo@laurelcountysheriff.gov.

Information will be kept confidential.

Deputy Robert Smith is investigating the robbery.
