A special ceremony was held June 16 following the Whitley County Board of Education’s monthly meeting, where the Whitley County School District’s 15 retiring teachers and staff were honored. Superintendent John Siler spoke briefly about each retiree, recalling past anecdotes and acknowledging each one’s future plans before presenting them with a gift.
