Three out of five inmates involved in escape plot were facing a murder charge

Three out of the five Whitley County Detention Center inmates allegedly involved in an April 29 jail escape conspiracy were being held in jail in connection with murder cases, and a fourth was jailed in connection with a manslaughter case.

Paul Brock and Nicholas Rucker are two inmates accused of trying to escape from the Whitley County Detention Center on April 29. Three other inmates are also charged in connection with the escape plot.

The alleged conspiracy involved an effort to enable Paul Brock, 41, of Corbin, and Nicholas Rucker, 41, of Williamsburg, to break out of the jail, according to court records.
