Whitley County Sheriff’s deputies arrested two Williamsburg men Thursday evening for allegedly trafficking drugs in a local cemetery.
Deputy Dorman Patrick Jr. charged both Jeffrey Harold Moses, 46, of 108 Beck’s Creek Road, and George M. Clouse, 42, of 861 Black Oak Road, with third-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and first-degree possession of a controlled substance.
About 8:30 p.m., Patrick observed both men sitting in a 2001 white Honda in the middle of the road in Emlyn Cemetery about three miles south of Williamsburg, according to arrest citations.
Patrick observed one of the men stuff something in the front console, and received verbal permission to search the vehicle. He found 23 suspected Xanax pills in the front console of the vehicle and a $20 bill, according to arrest citations.
Underneath the front passenger’s seat, Patrick also recovered one green oval pill suspected to be Oxycodone, according to arrest citations.
Moses and Clouse are being held in the Whitley County Detention Center in lieu of $7,500 cash bonds.
They are scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Whitley District Court.
