Wanda June Gabbard, 86, of Emlyn, passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at the Williamsburg Health and Rehab Center in Williamsburg.
She was born on November 13, 1931 to the late Robert Blanton and Martha Ellen (Lewis) Blanton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Dempsey Gabbard and two sons, Terry Lynn and Jack Dempsey, Jr.. She was also preceded in death by a brother and four sisters.
She was a member of the Auxiliary Services of Baptist Regional Medical Center for many years. She really enjoyed helping and talking with people.
She is survived by her loving sister, Flora Strange; son Michael Wayne Gabbard (Kim) of Rochester, NY; daughter-in-law, Judy Gabbard of Emlyn; grandsons, Michael (Beth) of New York and Nick (Stephanie) of Corbin; granddaughters, Becky (Jerrad) of Evansville, IL, Sarah (Chris) of Williamsburg, and Allison; great grandchildren, Emily, Ethan, Xander, Brody, and Alexis; several nieces and nephews; other family and friends to mourn her passing.
The funeral service was held Sunday, July 8, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Carpenter officiating.
Following the service she was laid to rest in the Croley Addition of Highland Cemetery.
