Whitley County Health Department inspections

As part of its duties, the Whitley County Health Department conducts routine public health inspections of various entities, including restaurants, stores, schools, mobile home parks, swimming pools, etc.

Some of the most recent inspections include:

Food Establishment

• Arby’s #1998, 701 S 10th St., Williamsburg – 91. Aug. 5 regular inspection. Comments: employees observed doning gloves without washing hands first (employee observed handling trash and not washing hands before doning gloves); sanitizer in 3-C sink below required 200 ppm-400 ppm range; “employees must wash hands” signs missing at hand wash sinks in kitchen areas; high touch areas soiled; floors in poor repair (missing tiles, tiles buckling up, broken tiles, chipped and cracked tiles, missing grout) causing a trip hazard by deep fryers. Follow-up inspection required.

• Arby’s #1998, 701 S 10th St., Williamsburg – 97. Aug. 15 follow-up inspection. Comments: lack of handwash sign or poster to notify employees to wash hands; non-food contact surfaces have accumulation of dust, dirt, food residue and other debris; floors in poor repair causing a trip hazard by deep fryers.

• Soggy Bottoms Too, 965 S HWY 25W Suite #2, Williamsburg – 97. Aug. 14 regular inspection. Comments: cooler #2 (produce, etc.) internally temped at 52.4 degrees (must be 41 degrees or cooler). Follow-up inspection required.

• Soggy Bottoms Too, 965 S HWY 25W Suite #2, Williamsburg – 100. Aug. 18 follow-up inspection.

• Burger King, 1859 Falls HWY, Corbin – 97. Sept. 2 regular inspection. Comments: sanitizer in the 3-C sink tested at 500 ppm (must be between 200 ppm – 400 ppm); hard to reach areas soiled; container for holding ice scoop soiled. Follow-up inspection required.

• Burger King, 1859 Falls HWY, Corbin – 97. Sept. 9 follow-up inspection. Comments: hard to reach areas soiled; container for holding ice scoop soiled; 3-C sink and hand wash sink not repaired according to code (must be inspected by state plumbing inspector). Follow-up inspection required.

• Burger King, 1859 Falls HWY, Corbin – 99. Sept. 19 follow-up inspection. Comments: hard to reach areas soiled; container for holding ice scoop soiled.

• Starbucks, 1910 Falls HWY, Corbin – 95. Sept. 18 regular inspection. Comments: soiled wiping cloths laying around on work surfaces; work areas soiled with food residue; faucet leaking; woman’s restroom facility not stocked with toilet paper or soap; ware washing machine not working properly.

• Busy Beez Learning Center, 209 N 4th St., Williamsburg – 100. Sept. 22 regular inspection.

• Apollos, 201 N Main St., Corbin – 100. Sept. 24 regular inspection.
