Williamsburg police recovered pills, four suspected counterfeit $100 bills, and arrested three people following an investigation Monday near the Williamsburg Independent School.
Williamsburg police responded to the parking lot of the Quick Shop, which is located across from the school, after receiving information that a possible drug transaction was taking place there, Public Affairs Officer Shawn Jackson wrote in a press release.
Chief Wayne Bird, Lt. Jason Caddell and Detective Bobby Freeman arrived and determined that a drug transaction had likely taken place. Police recovered what are believed to be Hydrocodone pills, which is a schedule III narcotic and the suspected counterfeit bills, according to the release.
Police charged Wesley Croley, 22, of Williamsburg, with first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and public intoxication. Police also charged Carl Petrey and Shaun Croley, both 20 of Williamsburg, with public intoxication. Petrey was also charged with second-degree possession of a controlled substance.
"Detective Bobby Freeman is continuing the investigation and is working with the US Secret Service in conjunction with this case," Jackson wrote.
