The North Laurel Lady Jaguars lead Pineville at the half of the opening game in the girl’s 13th Region Tournament, 39-26.
North Laurel has been in command from the beginning and led 22-15 at the first stop. Cheyenne Madden has 14 points to lead the Lady Jaguars. Ashley Woolum has eight.
Pineville’s Chelsey Smith has 10 points. Smith came into the tournament averaging 30 points a game, the 13th Region’s leading scorer. The junior is one-of-five from 3-point range.
North Laurel hit 72.7 from the field in the first half while Pineville was 8-of-23 for 34.8 percent. North Laurel also won the battle of the boards.
