Elida Pittman, born on September 27, 1938, in Austin, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2024.
Elida spent her years in Williamsburg, Kentucky, where she was known for her kindness, patience, and unwavering faith. She was a devoted member of the Yaden Church of God and Barton Chapel and served as a dedicated Teachers Aide for the Whitley County Board of Education. Elida’s passion for helping others was reflected in her career and throughout her life. Her love for butterflies, sewing, and basket weaving brought joy to everyone around her.
Elida is survived by her loving husband of over 38 years, E.S. Pittman; and her children, Debbie Lunda, Ambigale Carter, and Ernest R. Herrera. She leaves behind a legacy in her sisters, Mary Louise Liford, Vera Rugy, and Yolanda Clontz; and her brothers, Andrew Rodela, Johnny Rodela, and Joe Rodela. Elida was also blessed with several grandchildren who will carry her memory in their hearts. Several other family and friends to mourn her passing.
Elida was preceded in death by her parents, Anders and Elvida Rodela; her son, David Herrera; daughter, Judy Herrera; and her grandchild, David Eric Herrera.
The funeral services for Elida was held on Friday, November 29, at the Croley Funeral Home with Rev. Jerome McCullah officiating.
Interment took place at Croley Addition Highland Park Cemetery on Cemetery Road, in Williamsburg, Kentucky.
Elida’s life was a testament to her love for her family, her dedication to her community, and her passion for her hobbies. As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the life she lived and the memories she left behind.
