Corbin pair arrested after meth found in motorcycle bags

Date:

Lonzo Mills and Sonya Cole.

Two Corbin residents were arrested on drug related charges Friday after police pulled them over while they were riding their motorcycle.

According to Corbin Police Department Public Relations Officer Rob Jones, Capt. Coy Wilson stopped a motorcycle for several traffic offenses Friday. The driver, 41-year-old Lonzo Mills, did not have a valid driver’s license and had three outstanding bench warrants for non-payment of fines.

Mills was arrested. His passenger, 34-year-old Sonya Cole, opened a bag on the motorcycle to retrieve her identification card. Inside the bag, Wilson noticed syringes and “several items used in the manufacture of methamphetamine.”

Cole was then arrested. Officers later allegedly found several baggies containing a white powdery substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Both Mills and Cole were charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Mills additionally faces numerous traffic offenses.

The pair were lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center.
