A June 5 preliminary hearing has been scheduled for a Lily man, who was arrested on Tuesday (May 27), for sexual abuse.

Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputy Tommy Houston arrested Shane A. Johns, 27, at 5:30 p.m. charging him with first-degree sexual abuse (victim under 12 years of age), according to a Laurel County Sheriff’s Office release.
The arrest occurred at a Lily residence about seven miles south of London after the London-Laurel County 911 Communication Center dispatched deputies there to investigate a complaint. The Kentucky Department of Community-Based Services assisted with the investigation, the release stated.
He was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center where he is being held in lieu of a $50,000 cash bond, according to the correctional center’s website.
Johns pleaded not guilty to the charge during his arraignment Wednesday in Laurel District Court.
Laurel Sheriff’s Detective Hunter Disney and Deputy Austyn Weddle assisted with the investigation.
