Jim and Sylvia Rose will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on July 1. They were married July 1, 1950 at the First Christian Church in Pennington Gap, Va.
J.J. retired as an engineer from CSX Railroad, where he worked for 40 years. Sylvia is retired from BellSouth Telephone Company, where she worked for 35 years.
