Corbin man appointed to Ky. State Corrections Commission

Corbin resident Danny Jones was recently appointed to the Kentucky State Corrections Commission.

A Corbin man is one of eight people recently appointed by Gov. Matt Bevin to the Kentucky State Corrections Commission.

Joseph Daniel Jones, of Corbin, is CEO of Cumberland River Behavioral Health. Jones will represent service providers. He shall serve for a term expiring Feb. 17, 2020.

The Kentucky State Corrections Commission is charged with awarding all grant money to community corrections programs, along with developing and implementing a statewide strategic plan for community corrections programs.

The Commission is also responsible for establishing the Parole Board Nominating Committee.

Others appointed by Bevin to the commission on April 19 include: Jerome S. Melton, Derek Langdon Combs, Barbara Ann Ellerbrook, Paula Ratliff Pedigo, Charles Ray Smith, James William Gibson and Edward Malone Bourne Jr.
