Edward Speed Brummett, age 78, of West Chester Ohio, passed away Monday, August 9, 2021 following an extended medical condition. He was born in Wofford, KY to the late Mossie (Cottrell) and William Brummett on August 5, 1943. He is preceded in death by his afore mentioned parents, as well as brothers, Mathew, Herman, and sister Doris. He is survived by his wife Wanda (Caddell) of 57 years; daughters, Libby Caldwell and Melanie Brummett; grandchildren, Jonathan Caldwell, Sidney Medaugh, Riley Dale, Noah Dale, Nicholas Dale and Leeland Dale; great-grandchildren, Kinley Medaugh and Lathan Medaugh; sisters Jean Adkins and Opal Cannon; brothers, William “Frank” Brummett and Dan Brummett; and a host of nephews and nieces.
He proudly served in the US Army for three years including time served in Vietnam. Ed worked for Union Carbide in Paducah, KY and later for Monsanto in Miamisburg, Ohio of which he retired from.
Edward was a God-fearing man, humble, and always active in the church. In retirement he was able to live for a short time in the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee, This was a place they visited often throughout earlier years. He loved attending the gospel music sessions at Dollywood with his brother Dan. In 2020 he and Wanda moved back to Ohio to the Barrington of West Chester for assisted living.
Even though he will be missed we are certain that he is once again with family and friends in Heaven.
Funeral services were held on Friday, August 13.
Following the service he was laid to rest in the Wofford Cemetery. Military Graveside Honors were conducted by the American Legion Post #88 of Corbin.
