A tentative schedule for Williamsburg’s 2025 event calendar has been released.
Williamsburg Main Street Manager Jonathan Wyatt shared the event calendar with the News Journal over the weekend, which highlights another year’s worth of favorties that locals have grown to love, such as Old Fashioned Trading Days, the Whitley County Fair, Jeep Jamboree and a host of summer events like the monthly Block Party.
Newer events, like the Honey Festival that began last year, will also be returning in 2025. This year’s second annual event will take place May 24 at the Green Space on Main. Last year’s event boasted over 50 vendors, ranging from crafts to food to homemade goods.
The event was originally organized by Greg and Iskra Arenas, owners of Shale Oak Wine Tasting, as a means to get more foot traffic downtown.
Another new and returning event from last year is Kickin’ It at Kentucky Splash, which is a two-day car show devoted to specialty vehicles, such as mini trucks, lifted vehicles and hot rods. That event is scheduled to take place on May 2 and 3.
The first major event coming up for Williamsburg is their annual Easter egg hunt, currently set for April 19 at Briar Creek Park.
Wyatt encouraged area residents to come out and support this year’s events. “Community support is vital to the success of these events. We have a great downtown and great offerings; however, the essential piece to the puzzle is you,” said Wyatt. “Bring your whole family. Main Street and our downtown is for everyone. Take advantage of it.”
Some of the other events on this year’s calendar and their dates are as follows:
Jeepin’ on Main/BBQ on Main – May 17 at Courthouse Square
Block Party – June 6 at Bill Woods Park
Country Meets City – July 11 at the Green Space on Main
