Arbutus (Paul) Bridges, age 91, of Elk Valley, Tennessee, joined her Lord and Savior and family in heaven on December 15, 2024. She was born April 29, 1933, in Harps Creek, Kentucky. Mrs. Bridges was a lifetime member of Lick Fork Baptist Church and a beloved Mamaw, mother, wife, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by husband, James Odom Bridges; parents, George and Margaret (Mahan) Paul; daughter, Pertona Neal and late husband Gary; and siblings, Dovie Abner, Edna Bridges Norman, Edward Paul, and Thelma Paul.
She is survived by brother, Dennis Paul of Nashville; sister, Percilla Bridges of Elk Valley; sister, Martha Meredith of Elk Valley; sister, Flora Goins of Florida; son, Stanley Bridges and wife Linda of Elk Valley; daughter, Debbie Owens and husband Paul of Powell; and daughter, Tami Milani and late husband Charles of Elk Valley
She also is survived by her grandchildren, Tina Smith and husband Tommy, Jamie Neal and wife Jennifer, Jason Owens and wife Erin, Stacy Hauser and husband Evan, Mary Owens and late husband Darren, Stephanie Long and husband Mike.
Her great-grandchildren are Nakisha, Logan, Brooklyn, Ralyn, Avari, Delaney, Canyon, Ryan, Journey, Angie, Karson, Karter, Griffin, Jackson, and Ramsey. She is also survived by lots of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends too many to count.
Love as powerful as a mother’s tends to leave a mark. Mamaw left her mark on our family through her joy, laughter and singing, even dancing and singing with her great-grandchildren in her final days.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, December 18, at the Harp Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services start at 8 pm with Rev. Shawn Ivey and Rev. Jason Ivey officiating.
Interment will at 11 am on Thursday, December 19, in Warren Memorial Garden, Elk Valley, Pioneer, Tennessee.
