Donnie Wayne Peace, 69, of Williamsburg, passed away Wednesday March 15, 2017 at his home. He was born April 14, 1947 in Bell County. He was preceded in death by his mother Audie Hurst, stepfather Lawrence Hurst, and grandfather Tom Peace. He was a Kentucky Colonel, a member of the DAV, American Legion, and the VFW. He is survived by daughter Lisa Ponder Peace of Williamsburg, four grandchildren, Austin Ponder (Jessica), Paige Ponder, Dalton Ponder, Billie Berry all of Williamsburg, a great grandchild, Tandon Ponder; former wife Wanda Peace of Williamsburg, and a host of relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Ray Lawson, 65, of Skaggs Branch Road, Williamsburg, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at his home. He was born on August 10, 1951 in Jellico, TN to the late Cody Bill Lawson and Opal Marie (Bennett) Lawson. Cathy Prewitt, 69, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2017, at Baptist Health Corbin. Born in San Francisco, CA, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Prewitt, M.D.  and Madge Jones Prewitt. Cathy was Baptist by faith. She had taught for 25 years at both Corbin High School and Corbin Middle School. Ancil E. Hill, 82, of Portage, passed away Monday, February 20, 2017. He was born on August 6, 1934 in Williamsburg, to the late Ancil and Grace Hill. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. Ancil was employed as a Mobile Equipment Mechanic at US Steel, and retired in 1987. After his retirement, he worked as a truckdriver for Howell Tractor for over ten years. Janice V. McNew, 73, of Lily passed away Monday, March 13, 2017. Born April 13, 1943, in Laurel County, she was the daughter of the late Jim T. Smith and Edith Smith who survives. She attended Slate Ridge Bible Church.  A loving person to both her family and community, she showed her caring nature in many ways, especially babysitting for neighbors over the years. Phyllis Parker, 65, of Saxton, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017, at the Jellico Community Hospital. She was born March 3, 1952, in Williamsburg, the daughter of the late Arville and Maudie (Perkins) Parker. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jimmy John Parker. She is survived by two daughters, Petrina Dotson of Versailles, and Julia Michelle Black of London; six grandchildren;  two sisters, Thelma Duncan of Saxton, and Billie French of East Bernstead; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
