The 16th Region Champion Rams are 31-7 after defeating Ashland Blazer 11-1 in five innings Tuesday night.
In the three games they played in the region tournament, the Rams outscored their opponents 39 to one.

The Whitley County High School Baseball Team jumped out to an early lead, and never looked back winning their first 13th Region baseball title with a 16-1 victory over Middlesboro Tuesday night.
Aided by nine Middlesboro errors, the Colonels put up five runs in the first inning, two runs in the second inning and nine runs in the third inning in route to the three-inning victory.
Middlesboro scored its only run in the top of the third inning.

Whitley County’s 13th Region Tournament Semifinal game against Knox Central Monday night looked bleak early, before the Colonels scored eight unanswered runs en route to the 8-5 victory.
Colonels’ starting pitcher Bryce Anderson struggled beginning in the second inning, walking two hitters and then hitting another to load the bases, before the third walk of the inning gave the Panthers a 1-0 lead.
Coach Brandon Shope was quick with the hook, bringing on Logan Siler to pitch.

Tuesday’s 50th District Baseball Title game between Corbin and Whitley County may have been a precursor to next Tuesday’s 13th Region Title game.
The district champion Redhounds will face off against host Jackson County in the opening round of the tournament Saturday, while the district runner-up Colonels have drawn 49th District Champion North Laurel.
Whitley County and North Laurel will open region play at 11 a.m.
That will be followed by Harlan County against Knox Central at 1:30 p.m.
The winners of those games will face off in the first semifinal game on Monday night.

Whitley County’s Bryce Anderson held the Williamsburg Yellow Jackets hitless over three innings as the Colonels won the opening game of the 50th District Baseball Tournament, 15-0.

Down 8-6 going into the top of the seventh inning with a runner on second and two outs, Kade Elam belted a 1-0 pitch to left field for a home run to tie the game.
