Ousted

 After destroying Pineville-Bell, 24-1 in the Area Three Minor League Tournament Williamsburg lost two straight games and ended their hopes of advancing to the next level.

Moving On

 Facing elimination, the Williamsburg Little League All-Stars came from a 2-0 deficit to beat Middlesboro Monday night in Middlesboro, 5-2 and will advance out of the losers’ bracket to the District Four Tournament.

BUSY TIMES

 Last weekend was a busy weekend and the one ahead will be as well. Last weekend I worked my 13th year as director of the East-West Kentucky High School Softball All-Stars series.

 Bethany White is excited about heading off to college this fall. As matter of fact, she is making routine visits to Bowling Green on weekends already. That’s because she was selected one of the Western Kentucky University All-Girl cheerleaders.

BASEBALL ALL-STAR

The annual East-West Kentucky High School Baseball All-Star Games will be played at the University of Kentucky this weekend and several local players and coaches will take part in the event.

LITTLE LEAGUE

Dr. Pepper spotted Davis Salvage a 4-1 lead after one inning of play then stormed back to take a 14-7 win and remain in second place in the Corbin Little League standings with a 9-6 record Monday night at Rotary Park.

 

ALL-STAR ACTION

 Two area softball players and Corbin High School Coach Chris Hart will be a part of the 13th Annual East-West High School Softball series this weekend in Lexington.

SPEEDWAY FIRST

With the feature field set by point standings, Jessica Norman of Rockholds made the best of drawing the pole position and led all the way to win the Mitchell Foods Mini-Slammer Series feature at Corbin Speedway on Saturday evening, May 30.

 

WILLIAMSBURG SOFTBALL

The second week of action in the Williamsburg Softball League began Monday night with Hollywood Video rolling past Maiden Drug, 15-4.

The league began its summer season under the direction of new Williamsburg Softball Director David Richardson who replaced the long-time legend Gino Mosley.
