So often as reporters we get to see things that I think the readers of our paper should be able to see, but there has never really been a good way to provide it to you. I'm talking about audits, court records, meeting minutes ... things we often use in our reporting, but you never get to see in their entirety unless you take the time to go to city hall or court or wherever and get them yourself. You have to rely on our summary of these things to know what they say.

The Whitley County Lady Colonels will host the First Priority Softball Classic Friday and Saturday night. This year’s tournament has a different twist. There will be a concert Friday night for all the teams and fans, at no additional cost.

Senior Ted Clifford tossed a 7-0 no hitter as the Whitley County Colonels opened district play at Briar Creek Park in Williamsburg Monday afternoon. The right-hander struck out eight Williamsburg batters and allowed only two runners to reach base, one by way of a walk and the other on an infield error.
Four area high school baseball and softball teams traveled to the Sunshine State last week for a bit of spring training. The teams got in a total of 15 games, something they would not have done if they had stayed at home and tried to play because of the weather.
