Cathy Prewitt, 69, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2017, at Baptist Health Corbin.
Born in San Francisco, CA, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Prewitt, M.D. and Madge Jones Prewitt.
Cathy was Baptist by faith. She had taught for 25 years at both Corbin High School and Corbin Middle School.
Cathy is survived by her partner Jan Bolding; her “Kid” Kellee Edwards Whitlock and her husband John and granddaughter Kate; and by several cousins including Patsy Greeson, Howard Bell, Jr., Wanda Jeffries, and Peggy Bird; and her aunts Claircie Jeffries and Geneva Jeffries, all who mourn her passing.
A graveside service was held Thursday, March 16, at Highland Cemetery in Williamsburg with Rev. Austin Carty, Rev. Paul Simms, and Rev. Alex Lockridge.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church of Corbin.
