If playing doubles pickleball is your thing, and/or if you would like to help some less fortunate children have a better Christmas this year, then keep reading.

The Corbin Police Department is holding a doubles pickleball tournament on Saturday, Dec. 13, at the Corbin Recreation Center, which is located at 409 Barbourville Street.

“All proceeds will benefit our annual Shop with a Cop program. We invite players of all skill levels to participate and enjoy a day of friendly competition and community engagement. We look forward to seeing everyone there,” the Corbin Police Department wrote on its Facebook page.

Whatever your skill level, there is a category for you.

There will be a beginner/intermediate division and an advanced division.

The beginner/intermediate mixed teams will play at 10 a.m., and the beginner/intermediate men’s teams will play at 1 p.m.

The advanced mixed teams will play at 4 p.m. and the advanced men’s teams will place at 7 p.m.

The cost is $20 per player, and $10 per additional event, if you want to take part in both the mixed and men’s division.

You can register by going to https://forms.gle/wAWzmytP1MPea3cp7.

For more information about the pickleball tournament, e-mail K-9 Patrolman Brentley Patrick at Brentley.patrick@corbin-ky.gov.

The Corbin Police Department hosted a similar pickleball tournament in July with proceeds benefiting the Shop with a Cop program and the department’s K-9 unit.

The 8th Annual Corbin Police Department Shop with a Cop program will take less fortunate children on $100 shopping sprees this month at the Corbin Walmart.

This year the goal is to serve 125 children.

Donations can be mailed to the Corbin Police Department at 805 S. Main Street.
