Edith Wells, 88, of Corbin went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 7, 2017.
She was a resident at The Heritage Nursing Home, member of West Corbin Christian Church, and a retiree from American Greetings.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Cleo Poynter; husband, Eugene Wells; son, Roger Wells; three brothers: Luther, Gerald, and Ray Poynter; and two sisters: Doris Reeves and Geneva Nolan.
She is survived by her son, Eddie Wells and wife Lena of Keavy; two brothers: Chasteen Poynter of Keavy and Larry Poynter and wife Faye of Corbin; and one sister: Fay Foley of Corbin; and grandchildren; as well as a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 11, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Eddie Hammons and Charlie Wells officiating.
Burial followed in Locust Grove Cemetery at Keavy with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Hart Funeral Home of Corbin is in charge of the arrangements.
