The former executive director of the Williamsburg Housing Authority has been sentenced to 15 years for numerous charges, including converting thousands of dollars of the housing authority’s funds for his own use, though prison time is unlikely to be served as the sentence will be probated due to medical issues.
James R. Lovitt, 56, appeared in Whitley Circuit Court for formal sentencing Monday on charges of abuse of public trust, 10 counts of second-degree forgery and nine counts of theft by deception, which Lovitt entered a guilty plea to last month as part of an agreement with prosecutors.
