Friday Night Highlights: Sept. 29, 2023

Friday was another good night for coverage area high school football teams…

The Corbin Redhounds overcame a slow start to extend their current undefeated streak out to six games with a 34-6 victory over the visiting Johnson Central Golden Eagles. Next week, the Hounds will open up regular season district play with a long road trip to Letcher Central (4-2).

The Williamsburg Yellow Jackets were in action against a district opponent Friday, hosting the Pineville Mountain Lions. The Jackets had no trouble, winning 58-6 to improve to 3-2 on the season. They will host the Lynn Camp Wildcats (2-4) next week.

Finally, the Whitley County Colonels were in action south of the border this week at Scott, TN. The Colonels came away with an impressive 63-14 win that improved them to 4-2 overall before they kick off district competition next week at Perry County Central (4-2).
