A Corbin Tourism and Convention Commission professional recently joined her peers from across the state at the Fourth Quarter Meeting of the Kentucky Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus (KACVB), held in Franklin, Kentucky. This educational event provided valuable insights, networking opportunities, and actionable strategies to enhance local tourism initiatives.
Representing the Corbin Tourism and Convention Commission was Nancy Conley, Executive Director. Conley was actively engaged in sessions designed to address key challenges in the tourism industry while celebrating its ongoing success in Kentucky.
The meeting began with a warm welcome from Simpson County Judge Executive Mason Barnes, emphasizing tourism’s vital role in driving economic development and fostering community pride.
Kimberly Gester shared updates on the state’s incentive program, while Nancy Turner, Deputy Commissioner of Tourism, highlighted new statewide initiatives to support local tourism growth.
Rich Ornstein of the Kentucky Association of Counties (KACO) delivered the keynote, offering strategies for strengthening relationships with local government leaders to achieve shared goals.
“Attending events like this ensures we’re equipped with the latest tools and strategies to effectively promote Corbin as a top travel destination,” Conley said. “The sessions provided new ideas and underscored the importance of working closely with local officials and community partners to achieve our goals.”
She added, “Opportunities to learn from industry leaders and collaborate with peers across the state are invaluable. We’re bringing back actionable insights to benefit our community.”
